Upcoming Activities

Friends of HKMM can enjoy museum's events throughout the year including exhibition preview, talks, cultural tours and others. 

Upcoming events include: 

21 March: 'Being Water' Photographs Exhibition opening 

28 April: 'Pirates of the South China Sea: Cheung Po Tsai and Port Cities' Exhibition opening 

18 May: Swire Archive Visit 

Time: 16:00 – 17:00 

This tour will focus on Swire’s maritime heritage: the history of its start-up in China in the 2nd half of 19th century, its key development in Hong Kong - the Taikoo Dockyard, and the transformation of its land and of Taikoo Sugar Refinery into a property development in Quarry Bay.

28 June: ‘On Shark and Humanity’ Exhibition opening

July/August: Private viewing of new acquisitions with curators

October/November: Cultural and Maritime Excursion  

November: Opening of China in Print book fair

China in Print is Asia’s leading international fair and exhibition for rare books, manuscripts, maps, photographs, and ephemera with a particular focus on Asian printed material, featuring some of the leading specialist dealers in the world, from Australia, Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Spain, United Kingdom and the USA.
