Taikoo ship launch, 1957

A vintage 1957 home movie taken by John Morton who at the time served as a Chief Engineer for the Taikoo Dockyard and Engineering Company.

World's largest anchor

This short film commissioned by the Hong Kong Maritime Museum chronicles  the life of the world largest ship, the Seawise Giant, and how it’s anchor has found a home at the museum. The museum plans on placing the anchor as the centerpiece of the its new maritime plaza.

Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation

Dr. Samuel Hung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation Society, speaks to the Hong Kong Maritime Museum about his passion for the sea. With more than twenty years of experience, Dr. Hung has spearheaded efforts to raise awareness for the protection and the documentation of Hong Kong’s dolphin population.


Crossing the Star

This short film takes you through the cycle of carrying people from the piers in Tsim Sha Tsui to Wan Chai and also introduces you some of the “Star” Ferry employees that help keep the company running.
